Helpdesk woes

I just found out why it takes a close to half hour wait to get on Singnet’s broadband helpdesk.

After sweating the half an hour, I spent another 45 minutes with the helpdesk personnel trying to figure out my wireless. 45 mins! He kept asking me to do silly things that I knew would not help, but I did anyway because I knew they had some kind of SOP to follow and I was too tired to argue. Throughout the whole time I kept thinking of the incidents I heard from Ryan that his colleague that used to work for Singtel helpdesk related. People are so adorable I tell you. He spoke of one user, who was asked to go to his “My Windows” icon, and when the helpdesker asked, “Sir, what is your windows version?” he answered, “Aluminium.” Ai Yoi so cute.

Anyways I have gotten all the computers in my house on wireless, after what I must call, much distress. Yay to Ryan for lending me his tiny wireless USB adapter so my mom can play around on her email on her own personal computer. Mom says hi.
